Bubble Gum

Bubble Gum Girl

She is just a kid.

Simply a kid.

To me she's the world.

Simply the world.

She wears her heart for everyone to see.

Always with a smile and full of such glee.

A skip in her step.

A spirit that is free.

To me she is my world.

Simply the world.

My Pretty Sky....

This is my "Sky".

My first born.
What can I say...she's brilliant, creative, musically inclined, sweet, imaginative, witty, fun, social butterfly....

I just LOVE this kiddo!

She says she wants to be a doctor someday, perhaps a surgeon.

I tell her to do whatever makes her happiest.
But you HAVE to go to college! LOL

Photo Tip:
When capturing children you really want to make them as comfortable as possible.
I never really involve the parent to much with my shoot.  Reason for this?
It's all about these babies!! :)
One of the best aspects of having a session with a child is the ability to produce a natural "REAL" smile.
The emotion a child/baby can produce can truly be captured the second your shutter button is pushed.
Really becoming engaged in a personality, earning the trust, and reassuring that photo shoots are fun is all why I love this line of work!

When shooting with a DSLR camera I usually have my settings on :
"AI SERVO"
This is handy when shooting a child in motion.  (Haven't met the other kind)

Hope this comes in handy!!

Did Someone Say Surfs Up?

Pretty much.....this isn't me. This is, however, my very best friend.

He's four years lived. 30 something intelligent level mentality.

Wouldn't trade the comments, non-stop questions, and the wit for anything in the world..

He offers me reason, peace, love, and hope.

Hope that the 3rd time's the charm. Hope that he'll not be so critical....the others are so so critical.

He says I'm amazing. He says I'm pretty. He calls me a genius.

He makes me stop and realize how amazing this life really is.

He inspires me to keep going every single moment of every single day.

Script Overload

Here's the breakdown:

Car ride home.
Girls state 12,000 times: "Don't touch me, Don't look at me, Don't breath on me, quit staring at the other drivers, etc."
After awhile it sounds like Charlie Browns teacher:
"waa wa waaa wa waaa wa ....MooooooooM! waaaaa wa waaa"

Then the 4 year old states this basic rather complex thought out loud:
"Mama, is we went to Alaska...it would take a weawwy looong time.  We would need a map and we would need to take the sub-a-way cuz there may be LOTs of Crocodiles!"
"Yes."  I reply

My husband and I began filling in the blanks before the words came out..
We laughed.
This continued the entire way home.
The ride lasted ONE HOUR AND 6 MINUTES.
Lord have mercy............

Crocodiles.  ( Sorry, had to say it)
