Love Is In The Air

There is something to be said about good ol puppy love.   Ya just can't help it.  No matter how ugly, how naughty, how shedd-y, how claw-y, how poopy, how wet-dog-smelly they seem to be.....they're all so "dog-gone" cute!

No exceptions here in this household.
Miss Marley is the cutest fuzzball since Miss Molly.
Miss Molly 3 months
This newest member of the clan is Miss Marley.

One word:   Cute.

I am a firm believer that having animals while the kids are young is not only a great way to promote responsibility but I also believe it promotes self worth.

When a child feels needed and is caring for another it is excellent for their pride and self esteem.
This new "member" is also a perfect opportunity for photo ops!!

Parenting Organization Tip

This is my newest invention I like to call our:

COMMUNICATION FOLDER!!

This handy device is located right next to my fridge and contains valuable information pertaining to

YOU!

EXP: What's that, Husband? You can't find your bill from yesterdays mail?

"Check your COMMUNICATION FOLDER."

EXP: Moooooooommmmm, Did you sign my permission slip?

"Why yes, dear! :) Just check your COMMUNICATION FOLDER"

EXP: Jillian's thought to herself:

I need to remember to check the children's grades online.
(Yes, I do that weekly.)

I know! I'll write myself a note and put it in MY

COMMUNICATION FOLDER!

As you can see from the examples listed here the communication folder is basically a centralized location for all odds and ends, a way to communicate for the whole family and a great tool for organization!

The entire set up came to a grand total of $5.32!

And in my personal opinion....you can't put a price on

ORGANIZATION.

Get creative! Get handy! Be inventive!

What are some of the cool organizational ideas you've come up with to help your family?

Script Overload

Here's the breakdown:

Car ride home.
Girls state 12,000 times: "Don't touch me, Don't look at me, Don't breath on me, quit staring at the other drivers, etc."
After awhile it sounds like Charlie Browns teacher:
"waa wa waaa wa waaa wa ....MooooooooM! waaaaa wa waaa"

Then the 4 year old states this basic rather complex thought out loud:
"Mama, is we went to Alaska...it would take a weawwy looong time.  We would need a map and we would need to take the sub-a-way cuz there may be LOTs of Crocodiles!"
"Yes."  I reply

My husband and I began filling in the blanks before the words came out..
We laughed.
This continued the entire way home.
The ride lasted ONE HOUR AND 6 MINUTES.
